CANTON, OHIO –- When the Northern Ohio USO was forced to relocate, Shaheen Moving & Storage, an agent for Mayflower Transit, one of the nation's oldest and largest van lines, stepped up to volunteer its services.

Shaheen moved more than 30,000 pounds out of the 2,500-square-foot location in Akron, Ohio, into the new 5,000-square-foot location in North Canton, Ohio.

Established in 1941, the USO Northern Ohio was originally located in Cleveland's Terminal Tower, where it served the needs of countless troops during World War II. Today, the four staff members and more than 400 volunteers serve the 29 counties of Northern Ohio. Through numerous programs and services, the USO supports thousands military personnel and their families each month.

Mayflower Transit transports electronic equipment, trade show exhibits and displays, works of art, and specialized freight, in addition to household goods, utilizing a network of 700 affiliated agents throughout the United States and around the world.
