Kathy Clark, Clark Moving & Storage, Rochester, N.Y., was honored with the Mayflower Transit 2007 Excellence in Sales Achievement Award at Mayflower’s national sales and operation conference, held recently in St. Louis. Clark Moving & Storage is an agent of the worldwide household goods transportation van line.

The Sales Achievement Award is in recognition of accomplishments in the moving services sales field and recognizes an agency representative with a proven sales track record who contributed to the profitability of both the agency and the van line system.

Clark started in the moving industry in 1979 as a temporary employee for Rochester Van & Storage. From there she moved on to national account sales and acquired many key accounts as customers. By late 1984, the agency she worked for closed its doors, but Clark did not give up on the moving business; she was determined to provide service to her clientele. In May 1985, her husband Rich left his career and joined Clark in leasing empty warehouse and office space and started Clark Moving & Storage from the ground up.

Throughout the years, Clark excelled in her role as agency principal. In the early 90s, Clark Moving & Storage expanded to the Albany/Schenectady market and purchased its current facilities in Rochester, more than 100,000-square-feet of office and warehouse space.

Clark has served on the Board of Directors for Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester; Pluta Cancer Center; Genesee County Chapter of the Girl Scouts of America; Frontier Telephone in Rochester; and the Rochester Crisis Nursery Center. She was also a member of the original Mayflower Board Of Directors. Clark also attended the University of New Hampshire.
