NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Amodio Van & Storage Co., Inc. recently celebrated its 25th anniversary as a local Mayflower Transit agent. The company, which was founded in 1919 by Frank Amodio, Sr. as a household goods moving company, has enjoyed its status as a Mayflower agent since 1982.
“Our company was founded on the values of quality and customer service, which is one of the reasons we are known as the ‘white glove movers,’ as coined by our father, Lou Amodio,” said Gerry Amodio, chief operating officer of Amodio Van & Storage. “Mayflower Transit shares those values, and as an agent of the van line, we’ve been able to increase the range of services we offer, while remaining committed to providing clients with outstanding customer service.”
In addition to offering superior customer service to its customers, Amodio Van & Storage is committed to giving back to its community. The company’s most recent efforts include offering rentals of pink plastic moving containers, conveniently call PINKBOXes, to help raise awareness of breast cancer. A portion of the all the PINKBOX rental proceeds directly benefits New Britain’s Breast Health Initiative.
“We are proud to support our community’s commitment toward finding a cure to a disease that plaques so many women in our country,” said Frank Amodio, president & CEO of Amodio Van & Storage. “Not only do these plastic crates benefit this deserving initiative, they are also 100 percent recyclable, making them economically sound, which is also very important to us.”
As well as offering superior household goods moving services in Connecticut and western Massachusetts, Amodio also provides long-distance, international and commercial moving services,
logistics and distribution warehousing solutions. The company has developed specialized corporate and employee relocation packages that include pre-move counseling and the help of a relocation coordinator. Additionally, the company has many years of experience in moving offices, computers and electronics, libraries, schools, colleges, machinery and trade shows and exhibits.
“We combine our moving experience with the best available technology to meet the evolving needs of our clients,” said Gerry Amodio. “That’s what people expect from an industry leader.”
The company’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. Amodio is the only moving company in the state to win the Better Business Bureau’s Torch Award for Marketplace Business Ethics, as well as the University of Connecticut’s Family Business of the Year Award. Additionally, the company has received the Hartford Advocate’s Best Moving Company award for the last three years. Further company information is available at www.amodio.com.
