ST. LOUIS — UniGroup, Inc., the parent company of Mayflower Transit and other transportation-related companies, has captured the No. 13 spot on the Transport Topics Top 100 For-Hire Carrier List. UniGroup moved up two spots from its No. 15 ranking on last year’s list.

Transport Topics publishes the list to accurately document the size and scope of the largest trucking operations and provide analysis of the trends shaping the industry. The special project features financial and operating information on the largest for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada. It also puts into context many of the changes that have occurred since the first list was published in 1989.

UniGroup, Inc. is one of the nation’s largest privately owned transportation companies. In addition to Mayflower Transit, UniGroup is the parent company of other transportation-related companies. Its world headquarters offices are located in Fenton, Mo.
