DENVER, Colo. -- The Buehler Companies, an agent for Mayflower Transit, were a key sponsor of the 2008 Ride the Range 300-mile bike ride for local charities. To date, more than $37,000 has been raised from the ride.
An annual event organized by Coldwell Banker, the Ride the Range bicycle fundraiser benefits various local charities through the Coldwell Banker Community Fund. The 300-mile ride was held Sept. 8 through 12 and covered a course spanning the Front Range from Colorado Springs, Conifer and Evergreen through Boulder to Fort Collins and back down to Denver, making 14 stops to each Coldwell Banker office in the region.
During the week-long event, Buehler picked up the bicycles each evening and delivered them the next morning so the riders could continue their journey. Riders stopped at Coldwell Banker offices along the way for meals and to gain riders. Jeff Moshea, national account salesperson at Buehler, coordinated the event with Coldwell Banker and managed the logistics of the bicycle transportation.
“For us, it was a great way to serve the community, but it was also a neat promotional opportunity,” said Moshea. “We had our truck in front of all of the different offices, which was great exposure. And of course, we did it all free of charge because it’s a cause we believe in.”
Moshea said Buehler has a long-standing relationship with local Coldwell Banker offices where realtors refer customers to Buehler, and Buehler gives them special rates.
Funds raised through the event benefit organizations like Habitat for Humanity, the American Cancer Society, The Kempe Foundation, Up with People, Local Youth at Risk Organizations, Angel Eyes (SIDS Foundation), the LUPUS Research Foundation, the Windsor Tornado Community Fund and other worthy organizations and causes.
"My sincere thanks to our incredible sponsors and others who donated funds and helped volunteer to make this year's Ride the Range a successful event that will benefit some very
worthy charities," said Chris Mygatt, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Colorado and a participant in the ride. "It was a lot of fun and a truly rewarding experience."
