ST. LOUIS – MultiTek Strategic Solutions, part of UniGroup Worldwide, the sister company of Mayflower Transit, has been selected by Jones Lang La Salle & Sun Microsystems to provide project management, technical design and install/de-install services for more than 160 IT libraries and devices. Jones was contracted by Sun to manage the building construction, facility deployment and move management.

All American Moving Services, a Denver-based agent for Mayflower Transit, will assist MultiTek in moving and staging the 2,000 plus computer parts project, each taking several days to de-install and build more than half a million complex computer parts from several different information technology libraries. The move is scheduled to last three months with 20 MultiTek technicians working daily on the relocation project.

“MultiTek provides field activity for Sun Microsystems in the daily teardown/install and relocation of these libraries for their customers, and we are pleased they selected us to perform the same function for their vast labs and product development inventory,” said Kevin Schultz, senior director of MultiTek.

The relocation project includes the teardown and build of 9310, SL8500, SL3000, 9360 and other miscellaneous IT libraries. The MultiTek effort will focus on teardown and staging of the libraries, and then the team will begin re-building them at a newly constructed location.

All American Moving Services is helping to provide the manual support for the MultiTek relocation project and is working on-site to meet Sun Microsystems’ relocation needs.
