ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. – Olsen Brothers, Inc., an agent of Mayflower Transit, will make a special delivery for Northwestern University on Jan. 3, bringing a top nanotechnology lab – scientist, researchers, equipment and all – from its current home in California.

The Stoddart Nanotechnology Lab, run by Dr. Fraser Stoddart, comes to Chicago from UCLA, furthering Northwestern’s drive to become the nation’s foremost nanotechnology research center. Northwestern recently sold a portion of its royalty rights to the key ingredient in the popular painkiller Lyrica for $700 million, and some of the money has been put toward strategic initiatives such as the acquisition of the Stoddart Nanotechnology Lab.

“This is a very important move for Northwestern and for the city of Chicago,” said Ron Rudolph, president of Olsen Brothers. “We are honored to be a part of this noteworthy transition and proud to be the mover Northwestern trusts with such precious cargo.”

Olsen Brothers scheduled a two-day delivery to get Stoddart’s specialized equipment carefully stored in its new home. In addition to the lab, Olsen Brothers is moving the personal effects of Stoddart and nine members of his research team, demonstrating the diversity of the Olsen Brothers moving team.
