ST. PAUL, Minn.– Metcalf Moving & Storage, a St. Paul-based Mayflower Transit agent, will team up with the National Association of Letter Carriers and the Minnesota Transport Services Association for “Stamp Out Hunger,” the nation’s largest food drive to combat hunger. On Saturday, May 9, residents can drop off nonperishable food items at any of the 29 Cub Foods locations in the metro Twin Cities region. Letter carriers will also pick up nonperishable food items placed next to mailboxes on Saturday.
“Once the generous residents of the Twin Cities donate the food, we rely on companies like Metcalf to help our volunteers move the goods to Second Harvest Food Bank,” said Howard Markus, executive director of the Minnesota Transport Services Association.
“We are so proud to partner with two upstanding organizations to help solve the issue of hunger in our own community and across the United States,” said Jon Archbold, president of Metcalf Moving & Storage. “We’re challenging our community to help us break last year’s national record of 73.1 million pounds of food collected.”
Metcalf Moving & Storage has specialized in handling the moving and storage needs of families and businesses since 1919. The company was recognized with the 2008 Better Business Bureau Integrity Award for its focus on and commitment to quality.
