NOVI, Mich. – Premier Relocations, an agent for Mayflower Transit, has donated warehouse space and transportation services to Hope Closet – Michigan, a non-profit organization working to provide young women the opportunity to attend special High School events with a dress of their choice regardless of financial constraints or limitations. The donation from Premier Relocations will help Hope Closet decrease their annual budget by more than 25 percent.
“As a proud member of the Detroit metro community, giving back is important to us,” said Kirk Hensler, general manager of Premier Relocations. “I have two daughters who have attended their high school homecoming and prom and know how important these events are to a young woman during high school. Helping Hope Closet was a perfect fit for our team.”
“Premier Relocations is an unbelievable partner for Hope Closet. Our volunteer base is thrilled. Premier will allow us to grow and expand our reach in 2010 and beyond,” said Emily Baker, vice president of Hope Closet.
Hope Closet’s volunteers spend each year collecting thousands of formal gowns. In April, they open up a makeshift boutique inside a local church. Girls from across Michigan make appointments to visit the boutique where a volunteer personal shopper helps each girl select the perfect dress and one accessory. In 2009, they helped send 422 girls to prom and in 2010 they hope to help more than 700.
