ST. LOUIS. (March 27, 2020) – Richard and Christine Macon, Safeway Moving & Storage, Inc., Lexington, Kentucky, were awarded Mayflower Transit’s Household Goods Van Operator of the Year in the logistics category. The award recognizes their outstanding performance in the areas of customer service and safety. Mayflower Chairman Barry Vaughn and President and CEO Marc Rogers presented the award to The Macon’s at the company’s recent conference in St. Louis. The Macon’s have nearly 23 years of driving experience together. They estimate they have driven a combined 1.7 million miles together. Rick and Christine love being on the road together and agree that they are living the dream. “We’re together, I’m working with my best friend, what more could you want?” said Rick Macon. “Every part of this country is our favorite, we run 48 states,” said Christine Macon.

There are more than 1,800 drivers in the Mayflower system, and The Macon’s were one of three winners this year.
