Northborough, MA – (March 14, 2023) – Richard Pittman of Active Logistics out of Northborough, Massachusetts, was awarded Mayflower’s Van Operator of the Year for logistics. The award recognizes Pittman’s excellent performance in the areas of customer service and safety. Mayflower’s President and CEO Jason Mills alongside Chairman of the Board Charles W. McDaniel presented the award at the Company’s recent Learning Conference held in St. Louis.

Richard joined the trucking industry just under five years ago, but his dedication and customer service speaks for itself. He takes pride in his efficiency, organizational skills and professionalism. Although his initial career background didn’t begin in the moving industry, he understood that in order to be successful you must take risks.

“My motivation while I’m on the road is to provide good service, be punctual and never turn down a load because I am the face of Mayflower Logistics,” Pittman said.

“The secret to our exceptional service is the van operators in our network,” Jason Mills said. “Here at Mayflower, we don’t underestimate the effort, professionalism and dedication of drivers. We are privileged to honor Richard Pittman for their unwavering commitment and customer service with the 2022 Van Operator of the Year award.”

Pittman’s love for the open road goes deeper than trucking, he also rides motorcycles in his free time.

There are more than 1,300 driving professionals in the Mayflower network, and Pittman was one of the three winners this year. The Van Operator of the Year began in the late 1970s to recognize the men and women who sacrifice so much for a life on the road and who help other families through one of the most stressful times in their lives.
