Virginia Blaine, Vice President of Continental Van Lines, Seattle, Washington, received the Mayflower Joyce Derrick award. The annual award recognizes individuals who have shown particular dedication to and leadership in the moving industry. It is named in honor of the late Joyce Derrick, who served as vice president of operations for a California Mayflower agency for 20 years and was known for her commitment to fellow employees and van operators.

The selection of Blaine was announced by Mayflower CEO Jim Powers at the van line’s recent convention held in Scottsdale, Arizona. In his recognition of Blaine, Powers said, “Her passion for providing clients with a first class moving experience from beginning to end truly sets the bar for the agency. She keeps her team focused on constant improvement in all service areas while seeking out new growth opportunities for Continental.”

Under Blaine’s leadership, Continental continues to expand its customer base to serve individual families, small companies and huge corporations throughout the country. The company has also become known for being committed to a high standard of service and professionalism.
