Curious to know what is most important to Orlando movers? The 2019 Mayflower Mover Insights Survey provides us the answer: pets. Orlando movers love their pets and prioritize their comfort when searching, choosing and moving into a new home.
Orlando movers are willing to put their pets needs above their own. For them, pets influence 50 percent of which home they choose. This means movers are seeking homes that have pet friendly amenities to make life for their furry friends as comfortable as possible. Almost nine out of 10 future movers estimate they will prioritize indoor space, fencing, size of yard and friendly landlord rules when looking for their next home. To get these pet friendly features, Orlando movers are willing to pay almost a third more than their current housing costs.
Orlando pets’ comfort in a new community is just as important as their comfort in a new home. For this reason, pet friendly communities are prioritized when looking for a new place. Over half of Orlando movers did not choose to stay close to their own community. However, two-thirds of these movers tried to stay close to some aspect of their pet’s community, such as their park, furry friends or vet. Furthermore, when evaluating new neighborhoods to move into, more than 70 percent of past movers prioritized neighborhood walkability, parks nearby and community pet rules over other home amenities. Though you can’t bring your dogs to Orlando’s many entertainment attractions, it boasts multiple dog parks where your pet can play with friends, or simply go for a walk!
Before moving, almost three-fourths of all Orlando movers reported their pets, particularly cats, knew something was going on as they were packing. For this reason, Orlando pet owners tried to make the adjustment period as seamless as possible by preparing pets for the move. This includes spending more time with them, taking them over to the new place before moving in or taking them for a walk around the new neighborhood.
After moving in, 50 percent of pet owners reported their pets had difficulty settling into a new home. Owners reported their pet following them around, trying to sleep in their bed and having accidents in the house. To try and make their furry friends more comfortable, Orlando movers showed them where new things are, walked them around the neighborhood and spent more time with them. As a result, almost all movers reported their pet was adjusted in less than a month.
Orlando movers may prioritize being close to their workplace, or even being close to entertainment attractions. However, they will choose homes and communities based on the benefits these offer to their pets. When searching for a new home, they will put their pet’s needs above their own and work tirelessly to make sure their furry friend is comfortable and happy.
