Wilfredo Espinal-Rubio of Chipman Relocation and Logistics Wins Mayflower Transit’s Van Operator of the Year

GARDEN GROVE – (March 23, 2022) – Wilfredo “Willy” Espinal-Rubio, of Chipman Relocation and Logistics out of Garden Grove, California, was awarded Mayflower Transit’s Van Operator of the Year Award for the household goods west region. The award recognizes Rubio’s outstanding performance in the areas of customer service and safety. United Van Lines President and CEO Jason Mills along with Chairman of the Board of Directors Charles W. McDaniel presented the award at the Company’s recent Learning Conference in St. Louis.

In his eight years in the industry, Rubio has driven close to a million miles. Willy began driving because he wanted to see the country and make some money at the same time while helping people move across the country. He believes it is important to understand your customer’s personality in order to provide the best service.

“Safety is important to me because you are taking other people’s belongings and lives in your hands,” Rubio said. “It feels good to know you moved someone and all their goods and are helping to get them in good shape. I like being able to help and serve people.”

There are more than 1,500 drivers in the Mayflower Transit system, and Rubio was one of three winners this year. The van operator of the year began in the late 1970s to recognize the men and women who sacrifice so much for a life on the road and who help other families through one of the most stressful times in their lives.
