ST. LOUIS. (March 27, 2020) – William Poole, Hilldrup in Stafford, Virginia was awarded Mayflower Transit’s Household Goods East Van Operator of the Year. The award recognizes his outstanding performance in the areas of customer service and safety. Mayflower Chairman Barry Vaughn and President and CEO Marc Rogers presented the award to Poole at the company’s recent conference in St. Louis.
Poole has nearly 35 years of driving experience and estimates he’s driven nearly three million miles. “My favorite part about my job is having a completely satisfied customer at the end of the day,” Poole said. “I work hard at communicating with everyone and being honest to people.” Poole credits his success to his wife, who has supported him over the years and enabled him to be the person who he is today.

There are more than 1,800 drivers in the Mayflower system, and Poole was one of three winners this year. The van operator of the year began in the 1990s to recognize the men and women who sacrifice so much for a life on the road and who help other families through one of the most stressful times in their lives.
