You’re ready to move – but are you ready to pack? Our agents can provide supplies and guidance to help you pack yourself, or send in a team of professionals to pack as much as you need.

Items such as clocks, small radios and other small appliances need to be packed with plenty of padding to keep their delicate electronic components safe from damage.

You may want to evaluate how much of the collection you personally value. Because of their relative density, books tend to cost more per square foot than many of your other possessions.

You may be tempted to toss all of your shoes into a box when packing for a move. This not only puts them at risk for physical damage, but also makes it that much more difficult to unpack.

You should attempt to find a special flat box or glass carton sized specifically for your mirror when purchasing boxes. With the proper box in-hand, you should prepare by lining outer edges with crushed paper.
When packing for a long distance move, we recommend using a dish pack, an exceptionally sturdy corrugated carton of double-wall construction made for china, glassware and other fragile items less than 18 inches in size.
It is very important that you or an appointed representative be present on packing and moving days to identify items needing special handling. It is also helpful so packers and van operators can ask questions along the way.
Specialty wardrobe boxes with built-in racks are available to transport hanging clothes. These are your best bet if you want clothing to arrive at your destination wrinkle-free.
After removing the light bulb and lamp harp, wrap the base, harp and bulb separately in newsprint. (Use paper pads for large lamps.) Place them together in a carton, filling spaces with crushed paper.
If possible, use the original box or one specially made for transporting electronics when packing a television. If it is a very large television, we recommend custom crating.
Moisture, mold and insects can wreak havoc on natural linens packed without special preparation. Your linens and bedding should be folded and packed into large plastic bags.
Your silverware deserves special care when packing. You’ll want to carefully pack silver to protect precious metals and ensure sharp knives and forks don’t injure movers during handling.
